IELTS General Courses

The IELTS General Test is a test that assesses listening, reading, writing and speaking in less than three hours. The IELTS is divided into two categories: IELTS Academic and IELTS General for candidates who want to demonstrate their language skills in education. Listening and Speaking are the same in both tests. Reading and Writing are the sections that separate the two tests. Thanks to the IELTS General Course, we aim you to enter all sections ready and get the highest score from all sections.

IELTS General Course and Exam Format

Listening, Reading and Writing tests of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, while the Speaking exam is held on a separate day. The total duration of the exam is 165 minutes. With the IELTS General Course, we also work to ensure that you don’t have to worry about timing.

IELTS General Listening

This section contains four sections, each containing ten questions. The questions are designed to follow the answers in order. The first two chapters address situations that may arise in daily social life. In Chapter 1, there is a conversation between two speakers (for example, a conversation about travel plans). Chapter 2 includes a monologue (for example, talk about the IELTS academic course). The last two chapters address the identified situations of education and training. In Chapter 3, a conversation takes place between two main speakers (for example, two high school students directed by the teacher), and in Chapter 4 there is a monologue on an academic topic. Recordings are heard only once. Speakers include various country accents such as the British, Australia, New Zealand, America, and Canada.

Duration: 30 + 10 minutes

Number of Questions: 40

Question Types: Various types of questions such as multiple-choice, matching, plan / map / diagram labeling, form / note / table / flowchart / summary completion, sentence completion are used. While listening to the answers, they are written on the questionnaire and at the end of the test, 10 minutes are given to transfer their answers to the answer sheet. Bad spelling and grammar are punished, so you should be careful when writing an answer to the answer form.

Scoring: Each question worths 1 point.

IELTS General Speaking

The Speaking test consists of an oral interview. All speaking tests are recorded. IELTS General Speaking consists of 3 parts. IELTS General Course for all sections.

1. Introduction and interview
2. Long turn
3. Discussion

In the first part, the examiner introduces himself and checks the identity of the examiners. The examiner then asks general questions about some familiar topics such as home, family, work, studies. To ensure consistency, questions are taken from a scenario. Section 1 takes 4-5 minutes.

In the second part, the examiner gives you a task card asking you to talk about a specific topic. This card contains the points you need to specify in the conversation and tells the test takers to explain one aspect of the subject. You have 1 minute to prepare your speech. You can also use a paper pen to take notes. You will be asked to speak for 1-2 minutes and at the end of 2 minutes, you will be asked one or two questions. Part 2 takes 3-4 minutes, including preparation time.

In the third chapter, the topics in Chapter 2 are discussed in a more general and abstract manner and, where necessary, in a deeper way. Section 3 takes 4-5 minutes.

IELTS General Reading

IELTS General Writing

In the writing section, candidates are asked to write 2 essays. 1. In the essay, they are asked to respond to a situation, for example by writing a letter requesting information or explaining a situation. 2. In the essay, you are asked to write an article as a glance, argument or as an answer to the problem.
